About this product
New factions arrive, and everyone wants something from the Woodland.
Expand Root with two distinctive factions, new Vagabond characters and the Mechanical Marquise for solo, cooperative and competitive bot play.
A major Root expansion that adds the Riverfolk Company, Lizard Cult, three new Vagabond characters and new ways to play with up to six players.
Product Description
The Woodland grows more unpredictable in Root: The Riverfolk Expansion, bringing new factions, new characters and completely different ways to experience the struggle for control.
The Riverfolk Company turns commerce into power. Offer cards, riverboat travel and mercenary services to other players, set your own prices and use their payments to expand your trading network. Build trade posts across the Woodland and turn a thriving economy into victory.
The Lizard Cult follows a very different path. Spread your creed by building gardens, recruit followers and watch the Lost Souls pile to determine which clearings become the focus of your conspiracies. Acolytes can convert enemy warriors, sanctify buildings and launch crusades where the Cult's influence is strongest.
The expansion also introduces three new Vagabond characters and the Mechanical Marquise, an automated opponent that opens new possibilities for solo, cooperative and competitive games.
With additional pieces supporting games of up to six players and dozens of new faction combinations to explore, The Riverfolk Expansion adds even more asymmetry, interaction and variety to Root.
Root base game required. This expansion cannot be played on its own.
