This expansion builds on Cascadia's tile-laying and wildlife token-drafting gameplay by introducing beautiful natural landmarks that can become part of the habitats you create. As your forests, wetlands, prairies, mountains and rivers grow, you can place Landmark Tokens and choose new scoring cards that give those environments additional end-game possibilities.

Landmarks are not simply decorative additions. Building a large enough habitat corridor can give you the opportunity to place a landmark and select a corresponding Landmark Scoring Card, creating another decision to consider as your ecosystem develops. Some reward specific arrangements directly, while others can contribute bonuses to other areas of scoring.

The expansion also brings more variety to the familiar Cascadia experience with new Habitat Tiles, additional Wildlife Tokens and 15 new Wildlife Scoring Cards. The extra tiles and tokens can be mixed into your base game even when you are not using the Landmarks module, giving you more combinations to discover from game to game.

And when more people want to join the table, Landmarks provides enough additional components to expand Cascadia from its original 1–4 player range to up to 6 players. The rulebook also includes optional faster-play rules that can be especially useful with larger groups. The original Cascadia rulebook confirms the base game supports 1–4 players, while Landmarks extends that range to 1–6.

Good to Know

• Base game required: Cascadia: Landmarks is an expansion and cannot be played on its own. A copy of Cascadia is required.
• Use as much or as little as you like: The additional Habitat Tiles and Wildlife Tokens can be mixed into the base game even when the Landmarks module itself is not being used.
• Landmark placement: When a newly placed tile creates the fifth or later tile in a continuous habitat corridor, you may be able to place the matching Landmark Token and select a Landmark Scoring Card.
• One of each habitat: A player can place no more than one Landmark Token for each of the five habitat types, allowing a maximum of five landmarks in their environment.
• A new scoring layer: Landmark Scoring Cards add points or bonuses during final scoring and create another consideration when developing your habitats.
• More Cascadia variety: The expansion includes additional Wildlife Scoring Cards and Habitat Tiles that can be combined with the original game.
