Zookini Card Game

About this product

Match the animals. Match the bikinis. Find the zucchini.

A wonderfully silly card game of quick matching, surprise special cards and a race to empty your hand.

Match animals and bikini colours, dodge troublesome gorillas and use the zucchini boost to be the first player out of cards.

Product Description

It’s bikini day at the zoo, and things have become wonderfully strange.

In Zookini, colourful zoo animals appear in all kinds of mismatched bikinis, while a few prefer to go without one. Your goal is simple: be the first player to get rid of every card in your hand. To play a card, look for a match between the animal and bikini colours shown on the top card of the discard pile.

Sounds easy? The zoo has other ideas.

Fly cards start a quick race to swat the fly, with the fastest player earning the next turn. Gorillas can force players to draw extra cards, and several gorillas in a row can make the penalty grow quickly.

Then there’s the one and only zucchini. If it is in front of you, you may play two valid cards instead of one before passing the zucchini to the player holding the most cards, unless that happens to be you.

Fast, colourful and unapologetically goofy, Zookini turns simple card matching into a lively race full of animals, bikinis, gorillas, flies and one surprisingly powerful vegetable.

Why You’ll Love It

• Easy matching with a funny twist: Match animal and bikini colours to keep shedding cards.
• Race to empty your hand: The first player to successfully play their last card wins.
• The zucchini gives you a boost: Hold the zucchini and you may play two valid cards on your turn instead of one.
• Fly cards get everyone involved: A fly starts a quick reaction challenge where everyone else races to swat it first.
• Gorillas can pile on the trouble: Play another gorilla or risk drawing the number of cards shown, with penalties adding together when gorillas stack.
• Different cards keep turns unpredictable: Bikini animals, naked animals and special cards all behave a little differently.
• Great for group play: Designed for 2–6 players, ages 7+, with an approximate 20-minute play time.

Good to Know

• Every player begins with 8 cards.
• On your turn, you either play one valid card or draw one card.
• If the top card shows an animal wearing another animal’s bikini colour, several different matching options can become available.
• Naked animals also create their own matching possibilities.
• Fly cards are removed in a 2-player game.
• The zucchini passes to the player with the most cards after it is used; if the current holder still has the most, they keep it.
• Normally, the first player to play their last card wins. If the draw pile runs out first, the player currently holding the zucchini wins instead.
