Product Description
Thirty years ago, a terrible crime took place at Warwick Manor. The spirit of the murdered servant still haunts the mansion, unable to rest until the truth about that night is finally uncovered.
In Mysterium, one player becomes the ghost while everyone else takes on the role of psychic investigators, known as mediums. The ghost knows the Characters, Locations and Objects the mediums need to identify, but there is one rather inconvenient problem: the ghost cannot speak.
Instead, communication happens entirely through beautifully illustrated Vision cards.
The ghost chooses images that may connect to the answer through their colours, atmosphere, objects, composition or other visual details. The mediums study these strange clues, discuss their interpretations and work together to determine what the ghost is trying to tell them. The rulebook makes it clear that there is no single correct way to connect the images, so learning how the other players think becomes an important part of the investigation.
Each medium must reconstruct a personal trail consisting of a Character, Location and Object. The group has only seven rounds to complete these trails. If everyone succeeds in time, the investigation moves into the final Mystery Revelation, where the ghost provides one last shared vision and the mediums must work together to identify the trail belonging to the true culprit.
This 2025 Refresh brings Mysterium back with updated box artwork, a new tray, new cards and other refreshed elements while retaining its cooperative investigation built around teamwork, deduction and creative visual interpretation.
Why you’ll love it
- Solve the mystery together: Mysterium is fully cooperative, with the ghost and mediums working toward the same goal.
- A wonderfully different clue system: The ghost communicates through illustrated Vision cards rather than spoken clues.
- Interpret every little detail: Colours, objects, atmosphere and image composition can all become part of the ghost’s message.
- Two very different roles: Playing the silent ghost creates a different experience from discussing and decoding clues as a medium.
- Communication becomes part of the puzzle: Mediums can openly discuss their visions and help one another make sense of the ghost’s clues.
- Race against the clock: The investigators have seven rounds to reconstruct their trails before their connection with the ghost disappears.
- A final shared deduction: Successfully complete the investigation and the team faces one last challenge to identify the real culprit.
- Plenty to rediscover: Character, Location and Object sets can be mixed in later games to create additional combinations.
- Refreshed for 2025: This edition includes updated box artwork, a new tray, new cards and other refreshed elements.

Good to Know
- Everyone wins or loses together: Mysterium is a cooperative game rather than a competition between the ghost and the mediums.
- The ghost must remain silent: The ghost communicates through Vision cards and cannot use speech, gestures or comments to guide the mediums.
- Each medium follows a personal trail: A complete trail consists of a Character, a Location and an Object.
- Seven rounds to investigate: All mediums must complete their trails within the seven-round limit to reach the final Mystery Revelation.
- The final answer is a team decision: During the Mystery Revelation, the ghost provides a final three-card shared Vision and the mediums must agree on which trail belongs to the true culprit.
- Special 3-player setup: In a 3-player game, each medium controls two colours, so the investigation proceeds as though four mediums were present.
- Vision cards can mean many things: The ghost may build clues around themes, objects, colours, visual composition or atmosphere.
- More variety after your first game: The numbered Character, Location and Object sets can be mixed to create different combinations in future investigations.
- The ghost has limited help: Three Candle tokens are available for the entire game and can be used to replace Vision cards when the ghost needs different clues.
