About this product
Buy the horses. Back your favourites. Race for the biggest payday.
A fast horse-racing game where every dice roll can change the race — and your fortunes.
Buy horses, place bets and influence the action around the track as you compete to finish the race with the most money.
Product Description
Welcome to the track, where picking the winning horse is only part of the challenge.
In Long Shot: The Dice Game, up to eight players buy horses, place bets and influence how the race unfolds. Each round begins with a roll of the two custom dice. One determines which horse moves, while the other determines how far it advances; the selected horse can then trigger secondary movement for other horses through its Horse Card.
After the horses move, every player gets an action. Mark your Concession Grid, gain a Helmet, collect a Jersey, place a Bet, or Buy an available horse. Horse ownership brings more than bragging rights — every horse has its own special ability, and the decisions you make during the race can increase your chances of earning money when the results are finally settled.
There is plenty to watch beyond the front-runner. You can bet on horses you do not own, work towards Jockey Sets by collecting matching Helmets and Jerseys, use Concession bonuses to alter the action, and choose when to invest your money instead of simply chasing whichever horse happens to be leading.
Once three horses cross the finish line, the current round is completed and the race ends. Money is earned from finishing horses you own, successful bets, Jockey Sets, remaining cash and applicable Horse abilities. The player with the most money wins.
