Product Description
What colour comes to mind when someone says “coffee”? Dark brown? Warm caramel? Add “au lait”, and suddenly everyone may be looking somewhere completely different.
Hues and Cues is a colourful guessing game where players use words to guide each other towards a specific shade on a board filled with 480 colours.
Each round, one player becomes the cue giver, secretly chooses a colour from a card and gives a one-word clue. Everyone else places a marker on the shade they think best matches the clue. A second, two-word cue can then help narrow the possibilities before players make another guess. The closer your marker is to the chosen colour, the more points you can score.
The fun comes from discovering how differently people connect words, memories, objects and ideas with colour. The same clue can send different players to completely different parts of the board, making every round a lively test of communication and perception.

Good to Know
- Clues have rules: Common colour names such as blue, green or yellow cannot be used as clues, although more descriptive colour names such as lavender or golden are allowed.
- One colour, one guess: Once a player piece occupies a colour space, another player cannot choose the same space.
- Second clue is optional: The cue giver can choose to pass instead of giving the second cue if the first round of guesses is already favourable.
