Product Description
Imagine being given the freedom to design the trail system of a new national forest in the Rocky Mountains. Where will your paths lead, and how will you balance outdoor exploration with protecting the natural landscape?
In Alpine Trails, every player creates their own mountain trail map, connecting scenic routes through forests, meadows, rocky terrain and wetlands while developing campsites and preserving habitats for local wildlife.
Each round, all players draw two tiles and decide how best to use them. Every tile is double-sided, offering a choice between extending your trail network or adding terrain to your landscape. Carefully position your tiles to create connected paths, grow matching habitats and make the most of the available space.
Longer trails open opportunities to establish campsites, complete trail loops to discover waterfalls and use branching paths to create opportunities for wildlife to appear on other players' maps.
But building beautiful trails is only part of the challenge.
Your final score rewards several different achievements, including large connected habitats, waterfalls surrounded by other tiles, campsites, wildlife, lakes and your longest qualifying trail. Each player also receives a personal objective, adding another consideration to their mountain-building strategy.
Because everyone plays simultaneously, the game keeps moving as each player develops their own landscape. Whether you're enjoying a solo adventure or competing with family and friends, Alpine Trails offers an engaging combination of simple choices and satisfying strategic planning.
When the final tiles have been placed, compare your completed mountain maps and discover who has created the most rewarding trail system.
